The Michigan Heritage & Research Foundation commemorates those Michigan soldiers from the Vietnam Conflict who are Missing in Action, as well as Michigan law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.  The foundation utilizes a 138 acre site in Kalkaska overlooking Lake Skegemog with plans for a mile of ADA-accessible trail.

The Kalkaska Historical Society and Museum is located directly behind the "Giant Rainbow Trout" fountain (Ground Zero of the National Trout Festival") in downtown Kalkaska.  You can't miss it.  BTW; during the summer, it's incredible the number and variety of peoples who stop to have their pictures taken with the trout.
